Hugh Jackman ("X-Men Movie" franchise) returns as Logan/"Wolverine," a mutant with regenerative powers, three sharp claws on each hand and a skeleton all laced with the rare metal known as adamantium. Logan struggles to find the secrets to his past. After learning little information through the help of Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Logan takes his search even further by learning the full truth of his origin, while also heading in a bold, new direction.Leading up to the events of "X-Men," "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.
STARRING: Hugh Jackman, Dominic Monaghan, Brian Cox
DIRECTOR: Gavin Hood
My Take:
We can never get enough of X-men specially after that crapfest called The Last Stand. Brett Rattner should never be allowed to touch another X-men movie ever again. Unlike the Avengers who showcase each hero in a single movie before pitting them against each other. X-men started out with a ensemble cast before going back to roots. We get to see weapon X, sabertooth, and Gambit! in this latest installment from the one guy who can portray Wolverine best, Jackman. I am expecting explosive fight sequences, and a plot that centers on the origins of this cold mean brute slashing and dicing X-men.
Out May 1, 2009.
